ScienCell Research Laboratories was founded in 1999 with a straightforward premise: give researchers the tools they need to do work that matters. Twenty-five years later, that premise still drives everything we build — from primary cell isolations to pathway-specific qPCR arrays designed for the experiments happening in labs right now, and the ones being designed for tomorrow.

Based in San Diego, California, we specialize in human and animal primary cells, cell culture systems, and molecular biology tools that researchers depend on when experimental reproducibility is not optional. Our catalog covers more than 3,000 products across 170+ primary cell types, all cited in peer-reviewed scientific literature across neuroscience, oncology, immunology, hepatology, and cardiovascular research.

Our track record reflects a history of firsts. In 2002, we introduced our first human neuron product. We were also the first company reported to successfully cryopreserve neurons and develop telomere quantification kits — advances that came directly from listening to what the research community needed and building toward it.
